Signs and Symptoms

A person with dry eye syndrome may experience signs and symptoms, which usually affect both eyes, as under:
Dry, sandy/gritty/scratchy, or filmy feeling
Burning or itching
Intermittent excessive tearing
Stringy mucus in or around your eyes
Redness of the eyes
Sharp or achy pain in or around the eyes
Eye fatigue
Blurred or double vision
Foreign body sensation
Light sensitivity
Difficulty wearing contact lenses
Difficulty with night time driving
